In this session, join Dr. Emmanouil Piperakis as he gives a brief introduction to MetLife and it's recent accomplishments with big data. Starting with an overview of data and analytics in the insurance industry, he'll also review MetLife Japan's recent achievements with their Big Data platform, as well as discuss the technical challenges, solutions, and innovations they've encountered.

Emmanouil Piperakis

Emmanouil joined MetLife Japan in March 2017 and is responsible for the Information Management team under Data and Analytics organization. Prior to MetLife he was employed other financial institutions in Japan. Coming from Academia, he received his PhD in Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition from Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he also lectured for 2 years on the same topic and received a PostDoc. He is infatuated with AI and all its implications to modern life, but always prefers Real Intelligence and discussions, especially over a cup of coffee.​
