Selection Criteria for Abstracts
DataWorks Summit is a community focused conference. Sessions are voted on by a committee of industry and open source luminaries. The committees evaluate your entire submission, but in particular your abstract and bio. For your abstract they evaluate its relevance to the track and industry trends. The abstract is also evaluated for clarity of concepts, objectivity, organization, significance of the technical material, value as an original contribution, clarification or extension of existing information or concepts, adequacy, treatment of the subject, and freedom from commercialism. For your bio they evaluate your background in the area, career background and speaking experience. Make sure to include other conferences or meetups you have spoken at, links to previous talks are very helpful.
